Depository Trust & Clearing Corp.--For its Loan/Serv platform

The syndicated commercial loan processing space is one that has remained manual in spite of a focus on automation in almost all other areas. The DTCC has moved to change that with its Loan/Serv platform that provides automation via reconciliation, and will offer a secure network for agent banks to transmit information to investors. The move is significant in light of increasing volumes in the syndicated lending space. The reconciliations module will provide reconciliation of individual loans between agent banks and investors, while the communications network is expected to streamline communications. The Loan Syndications and Trading Association is collaborating with the utility on FpML messages for the network.

Clearstream-- For its Central Facility For Funds

Streamlining processing procedures has been the goal for some time now, and a central hub has been the method of choice for many firms. Clearstream adopted the hub and spoke model in its settlement platform for investment funds domiciled in an expanding list of European countries, including Luxembourg, Belgium, Ireland and the U.K. The platform helps to facilitate cross border settlement by creating a single point for sending and receiving settlement and payment instructions, a delivery-versus-payment system, and integration with existing custody and settlement services at the utility. Corporate actions, income event processing and electronic reporting are also consolidated via the platform.

Euroclear--For its DerivManager platform

Options for solving the derivatives processing puzzle have abounded following global regulators' focus on the issue. Euroclear's platform offers a multi-layered answer for over-the-counter derivatives transactions. The platform provides a trade recognition capability that matches bilateral transactions, provides exposure matching and netting, which gives users a complete, real-time snapshot of their derivative transaction risk exposures. Clients can also send matched trades from DTCC's Trade Information Warehouse to DerivManager for post-matching services.
